The Australian Mauritian Association is a non-profit organisation based in Sydney, Australia. Founded in 1969 by Rex Moutou, the aim of the association was to help new Mauritian immigrants settle in their newly adopted country.
These days, the AMA is involved in a variety of projects which focus on helping the sick, elderly and disadvantaged here in Australia, and in Mauritius. Currently consisting of 150 families from various backgrounds, the AMA also has quite an extensive calendar of social and sporting activities ranging from dances, to fetes and pétanque tournaments.
Our website will enable you to find further information about the association, the projects we work on, the social gatherings that we organise, our sporting triumphs, and other interesting bits and pieces.
